Lukas is a software developer working on Blender’s Cycles rendering engine for the last five years, developing features such as the denoiser or light portals as well as a lot of internal improvements and speedups.
Over the years he worked with various studios such as Theory Studios and Tangent Animation on improving Blender for their projects.
While Lukas is still working on Blender, especially Cycles, in his free time, he also works as a software engineer for cloud infrastructure at Genesis Cloud and has just started a M.Sc. program in Computational Science and Engineering.
Generally, he is very interested in high-performance and GPU computing as well as computer graphics and physics, therefore making rendering algorithms and software are his favorite area to work in.
